Get Involved

NHS 24 is committed to involving the public in service developments. There are a number of ways that you can get involved and help us achieve the best standards of care. You can:

Patient Focus and Public Involvement (PFPI) is about making a difference. Sometimes a small change to health services makes a big difference to a patient or carer's experience.

Partnership working

At NHS 24 we are keen to learn from working alongside people who use our services. We believe that by working together and creating strong links between NHS 24, patients and the public, we are able to provide the best standard of care to the people of Scotland. There are many benefits to partnership working, including:

  • Openness
  • Trust
  • Transparency
  • Credibility
  • Accountability
  • Better decision making

Once involved, we will ensure that you are fully supported and that your contribution is recognised.

“I feel NHS 24 staff appreciate the contribution made by the volunteers.”
- Jane Turner, Public Partnership Forum Steering Group member

Involving you

It’s not only members of our Public Partnership Forum who have a say in what we do. We involve members of the public in many ways, including the development our new Patient Focus and Public Involvement Strategy 2012 to 2015, ‘Working Together - You and NHS 24’. Our Patient Focus and Public Involvement Strategy sets out how we plan to involve patients and the public in the development of our service from 2012 to 2015.
